About Direct Support Work

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Workers. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives, providing support with daily living tasks and activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Personal Care Support: Assist clients with personal care needs, including showering, toileting, dressing, and more.
  • Medication Administration: Safely administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
  • Transfer Assistance: Use hoists and slide sheets to transfer clients safely, and assist with mobility.
  • Domestic Duties: Perform domestic duties, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation, to maintain a comfortable living environment.
  • Community Engagement: Accompany clients to appointments, grocery shopping, or other social/recreational activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in disability support work is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, under direction, and within a team environment.
  • Calm and confident in diverse environments, with a strong understanding of professional boundaries.
  • Dedication to providing personalized care with dignity and sensitivity.

Requirements
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • A Blue Card (Working with Children Card).
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Check (Working with Individuals with Disabilities, formerly a Yellow Card).
  • Commitment to infection prevention and control measures, including the use of PPE as directed.
  • A smartphone with iOS 13.0 and up or Android 6.0 and up operating system.
