Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Underground Paste Technician to join our team. As an Underground Paste Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of underground paste reticulation systems.

About the Role
  • Installation of underground paste reticulation, pipe supports, couplings, elbows etc.
  • Installation of UG dump valves/diverter valves, pressure sensors and instrumentation.
  • Construction of paste walls and bunds.
  • Coordinate works with surface plant and mining operation teams.
  • Support supervisors in planning and executing paste infrastructure projects efficiently and within scope.
  • Record and report daily activities, paste line performance, and maintenance requirements accurately.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, including hazard identification, risk management, and use of appropriate PPE.
  • Work collaboratively with other crews (services, projects, and production) to coordinate paste installation around mining schedules.
About You
  • A minimum of 12 months' underground experience is essential, preferably in paste and project environments.
  • Proficiency in hand tools, power tools, and underground plant relevant to paste reticulation.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic system faults.
  • A strong focus on safety and hazard awareness.
  • The ability to work in physically demanding environments and confined spaces.
  • Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying tasks and schedules.
  • Current IT & UG LV Tickets are mandatory.
  • A current Manual Driver's Licence is also required.
  • Candidates must pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
