Overview

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is responsible for delivering over 200 Microsoft web portals, Live and Online Services globally. Our focus is on smart growth, high efficiency, and delivering a trusted experience to customers and partners worldwide.


We are looking for a high energy individual to help build the network that powers the world's largest online services. As a Construction Contracts Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, legal experts, and external stakeholders to manage contractual agreements, mitigate risks, and drive compliance at the job site.



Responsibilities

  • Project Procurement:
  • Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies to meet project objectives, in relation to the contract.
  • Prepare contract award proposals.
  • Contract Review and Compliance:
  • Ensure all contractual requirements are met according to the terms and conditions.
  • Execute project closeout requirements.
  • Change Order Management:
  • Lead Change Order negotiations with input from key stakeholders and detailed understanding of contractual conditions.
  • Monitor and mitigate the impact of change orders to the project.
  • Execution Coordination & Communication:
  • Assume all post-award contract execution responsibilities.
  • Own commercial decision making on all post-award activities.
  • Provide regular status reports on issues, risks and mitigations to leadership.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 10+ Years Experience in Project Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, and/or Operations.
  • Proven experience in contract management, preferably in construction, real estate, or infrastructure projects.


Preferred Requirements

  • Hyperscale data center or large building construction experience in an owner or general contractor capacity.
  • Experience developing negotiating contract terms and conditions specifically for contracts related to services, construction, engineering, materials and equipment installation.
  • Strong understanding of contracting principles and legal terms and conditions.
  • Broad understanding of the construction industry and contract language associated engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.


Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:


Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check every two years thereafter.
