Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Supervisor to join our team at Burbank. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in construction and supervision of multi-residential and medium density construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the construction of medium density and multi-residential builds across Victoria to ensure compliance with set timeframes, budgets, Burbank quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide operational support to the Regional Construction Manager.
  • Provide guidance and contribute to the development of Building Supervisors.

Construction Supervision

  • Supervise between 10 - 15 jobs at any given time or manage a medium density project site.
  • Liaise with developers and consultants.
  • Check construction files prior to going to site to ensure all documents are complete and accurate.
  • Negotiate with sub-contractors and coordinate their presence on sites.
  • Interpret building plans, regulations, and codes of practice in order to direct the progress of work and monitor compliance with construction documents.
  • Schedule the coordination of building workers on site.
  • Arrange supplies of material and equipment and verify delivery.
  • Report to management on onsite activity.
  • Maintain and update on site program.
  • Complete quality assurance inspections.
  • Monitor and strictly control ETS spending.
  • Maintain company vehicle and equipment.
  • Maintain safe working practices.

Time and Quality Adherence

  • Maintain a Production percentage of 90% or greater.
  • Ensure a final Quality Assurance result of 98% or higher is achieved.
  • Complete works in accordance with agreed timeframes.

Communication

  • Ensure regular, consistent, informative and relevant communication with Regional Construction Manager and Building Supervisors as required.
  • Provide clear and concise direction to suppliers and on-site trades.
  • Ensure Burbank clients receive relevant and timely updates throughout the construction process as required.

Judgment and Decision Making

  • Apply sound judgement, problem solving and decision-making skills to identify and resolve problems throughout the construction process.
  • Make recommendations to the Regional Construction Manager with regard to construction issues as required.

Key Relationships

  • Develop a productive working relationship with contractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure client concerns are dealt with in a professional and timely manner and in accordance with Burbank customer service standards.
  • Liaise between Site Supervisors and the Regional Construction Manager.

Typical Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience in construction and supervision of multi-residential and medium density construction projects.
  • Experience in the coordination and management of trades personnel.
  • Tertiary qualification in building and construction or similar discipline.
  • Developed knowledge of operational performance and capacity of various items of construction.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced analytical and investigative skills.
  • Well-developed skills in project costing and scheduling techniques.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Officers course (13198SA).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for management and leadership.
  • Technical aptitude.
  • White Card.
  • Current and valid driver's license.
