Job Opportunity

SA Mushrooms is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team.

This role requires the ability to perform preventative maintenance, services, and repairs on plant, equipment, and facilities.

About the Role:

The successful applicant will be responsible for scheduled maintenance, complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and high-level problem solving and reporting.

  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical equipment.
  • Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, rotating tyres, and greasing plant.
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly.
  • Prepare and update records of service work conducted and keep on top of scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Source quotes from external suppliers for parts.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Practical experience in general trades or agricultural settings.
  • Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with agricultural machinery and operations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • High level diagnostic and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

This is a full-time position working 5 days a week at Lower Light and Waterloo Corner in South Australia. Some reasonable out of hours work may be required from time to time.
