Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our design function across minerals processing and supporting site infrastructure projects.

  • Coordinate and direct the design team to ensure technical competence and performance meet requirements.
  • Programme workloads and provide guidance to engineers and drafting staff.
  • Work with management to ensure resource planning meets project needs.
  • Administer technical briefs for sub-consultant engagement.
  • Prepare and control issue of the Project Design Management Plan.
  • Coordinate design interfaces with clients and other designers.
  • Manage engineers/designers to ensure authorisation and issue of documents and drawings.
  • Coordinate responses to technical queries from contractors and other project staff.
  • Identify, investigate, record, monitor and report on actions, resolution and costs of identified design non-conformances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate the work of engineers and drafting staff allocated to the project.
  • Ensure compliance with organisation's 'Design Management Systems', including NCR's.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in industry.
  • Extensive knowledge on organisation projects and practices.
  • Experience in leading and managing technical/project teams.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Coal and/or metals industry experience.
  • Experience in heavy industry environment.
