Senior Design Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a senior leader to join our dynamic and successful team based in Brisbane. This is a great opportunity to step into a senior role where you'll play a crucial part in the business's success.

As a key member of the design and estimating team, you'll engage with clients and stakeholders while working closely with project management teams throughout the project lifecycle, from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and program the design process effectively to ensure all stakeholders act in a timely manner.
  • Identify, coordinate and drive consultants to complete detailed design and documentation within specified timeframes.
  • Challenge consultants appropriately and act with flexibility and curiosity to come up with effective design solutions and find efficiencies in design.
  • Identify and recommend cost-effective construction strategies and methodologies, incorporating them into the design.
  • Ensure compliance and contractual obligations are met throughout the process and within design.
  • Manage client relationships with integrity and fairness, influencing the outcomes you need to ensure effective design.
Requirements:
  • You will have a passion for design with a commercial mind and have an opportunity to influence the business moving forward.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Design or Construction Management coupled with extensive experience in a Design Management role.
  • Previous experience working on sizeable new build projects in particular, Industrial or Multi-residential.
  • A commitment to coaching and mentoring team members, promoting knowledge sharing and career development.
  • A strong commercial awareness and ability to identify cost efficiencies through design.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • An ability to identify and manage risk.
