Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Dam Structural Engineer to join our team in Australia and New Zealand. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on structural engineering projects, including the design and analysis of dams, spillways, and appurtenant structures.

About the Role:

As a Dam Structural Engineer with AECOM, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from conceptual design to detailed engineering and construction support services. You will be responsible for:

  • Conducting structural analysis and review of concrete dams, spillways, and appurtenant structures
  • Developing conceptual and detailed designs for dams and structural components of dams
  • Inspecting and investigating existing dams to identify potential issues and develop recommendations for upgrades and repairs
  • Providing construction support services, including inspection of works, evaluation of quality control and quality assurance data, and construction reporting
  • Preparing tenders and proposals and providing mentoring to junior engineers

Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated capability in structural design, including the preparation of design reports, design drawings, and specifications, ideally within the dams industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and industry partners
  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline
