Job Title: Director Budget And Reporting

We are seeking a highly motivated leader to fill the role of Director Budget and Reporting. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in government budget management, with a proven track record of developing and executing external budget strategies.

About the Role:
  • The key responsibility of this role is to develop and implement budget management strategies and plans to support the Agency's overall financial sustainability.
  • This includes delivery of internal and external budgets to support resourcing and execution of activities across the Agency.
  • The successful candidate will provide clear and concise strategic budget and financial management advice and support to senior leaders.
  • Enabling the financial business partnering functions across the Agency with budget and reporting to support consistent and compliant outcomes.
Key Attributes and Skills:
  • Ability to assess, develop, implement and evaluate budget management strategies, initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • Analyse budget outcomes and prepare robust and reliable forecasts and insights to inform decision making.
  • Engage and influence senior leaders and budget managers across the Agency.
  • High attention to detail and ability to learn, contest information and promote continuous improvement.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to prepare clear and concise briefs for the Executive.
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation and collaboration.
What You Will Bring:
  • At least 5 years of experience in government budget management.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing external budget strategies.
  • Expertise in budget management, financial accounting and policy, finance business partnering and costings.
  • Strong leadership and direction skills, with experience in managing teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior leaders and budget managers.
How You Will Contribute:
  • Develop and implement budget management strategies and plans to support the Agency's overall financial sustainability.
  • Deliver timely and accurate financial reports, forecasts and insights on financial results, budgets and resource allocation.
  • Provide clear and concise strategic budget and financial management advice and support to senior leaders.
  • Enable the financial business partnering functions across the Agency with budget and reporting to support consistent and compliant outcomes.
