Job Title: Budget and Reporting Specialist

Job Overview:

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines, a historic and transformative endeavour for Australia.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the financial sustainability of the Agency and the NPS Program, through effective budget management and financial reporting.

The position requires strong leadership and direction skills, as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment in managing budget risks and issues.

About the Role:
  • Develop and implement budget management strategies and plans to support the Agency's and the NPS Program's overall financial sustainability.
  • Deliver internal and external budgets to support resourcing and execution of activities across the Agency.
  • Provide clear and concise strategic budget and financial management advice and support to senior committees.
  • Manage budget risks and issues, monthly and annual reporting requirements, budgets and costings, financial performance analysis and insights.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Work closely with the CFO in developing and implementing budget management strategies and plans to support the Agency's and the NPS Program's overall financial sustainability.
  2. Delivery of ASA's and the NPS Program internal and external budgets to support resourcing and execution of activities across the Agency.
  3. Provision of clear and concise strategic budget and financial management advice and support to the Chief Financial Officer to assist with decision making through forecasting, reporting and insights.
  4. Enabling the financial business partnering functions across the ASA with budget and reporting to support consistent and compliant outcomes from a budget and financial management perspective.
  5. Timely and accurate financial reporting, forecasting and insights on financial results, budgets and resource allocation to senior committees.
  6. Exercising strong leadership and direction of a team, responsible for the delivery of external and internal budget deliverables.
