Senior Manager, Policy and Government Relations

The Senior Manager, Policy, Government Relations and Engagement will play a key role in implementing our enterprise strategy for corporate relations, monitoring the public policy environment, and developing and advocating policy positions with and to key external stakeholders. This role will support senior leaders to ensure the organisation implements a cohesive and consistent public policy, government, industry and stakeholder relations strategy that is aligned with our strategic objectives.
This is a newly created role within the Customer and Strategy team, and the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in public policy, government relations, industry affairs or corporate affairs within an issue-rich and highly regulated environment. They will possess sound judgment, outstanding communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
The role can be based in either our North Sydney or Docklands office in Melbourne, and the successful candidate will be rewarded with a supportive, inclusive and flexible team culture, including hybrid working. About the Role:- Develop and implement the enterprise strategy for corporate relations
- Monitor the public policy environment and develop policy positions
- Advocate for policy positions with and to key external stakeholders
- Support senior leaders to ensure a cohesive and consistent public policy, government, industry and stakeholder relations strategy
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in public policy, government relations, industry affairs or corporate affairs
- Sound judgment and ability to discern potential impacts of policy changes
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to create policy submissions, briefing notes, presentations, media materials, speeches and digital content
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment
