A senior maintenance professional is required to oversee the work of tradespeople at a Defence Base in the Albury/Wodonga region. The key objective of this role is to ensure that maintenance outcomes are achieved in terms of performance, quality, compliance and safety within the Armoured Vehicles Area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise trades personnel to guarantee that their work meets the established requirements.
  • Interact with stakeholders and contractors to allocate resources effectively, ensuring seamless collaboration.
  • Investigate incidents and report findings to relevant authorities.
  • Maintain open communication channels with management to develop and implement effective working procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as employee induction, training records, leave approvals and attendance records.
  • Provide leadership support to employees, identifying training gaps and reporting to the Site Manager.

To succeed in this position, applicants should possess a mechanical trade background, preferably in heavy diesel. A Certificate III in Leadership or equivalent experience would be advantageous. Additionally, strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to coach and lead work teams, are essential for this role.
