About the Role

Cubic Transportation Systems (Australia) Pty Limited is seeking a highly skilled Change and Release Lead to join our team in APAC. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting assigned systems to ensure high availability and meet customer KPIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and progress incident tickets / assigned tasks to completion in accordance with SLAs, escalating to technical management when SLAs are likely to be breached.
  • Maintain the state of mission-critical servers running customer applications.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new solutions, as required.
  • Manage databases and provide network systems administration assistance.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot faults, making recommendations for the most effective course of action.
  • Provide support to other internal teams and proactively monitor servers and related infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot network problems and outages, maintaining network cabling, including installation.
  • Configure and install equipment, as required.
  • Plan, document, communicate, and execute planned changes through the change management process.
  • Develop procedural and user documentation, ensuring it is up-to-date and meets requirements & standards set by the business.
  • Liaise with and manage third-party providers of systems, as required.
  • Provide end-user training on systems, as required.
  • Train up and mentor junior administrator staff, as required.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in information technology or a related discipline.
  • Industry certification for Solaris, Linux, Windows, VMware, and/or Networking is desirable.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • 7 years' experience in a systems administration role, preferably in a medium to large IT environment.
  • Server Networking skills, including TCP/IP and Cisco Networking.
  • Linux Redhat experience.
  • Experience hosting database environments.
  • Experience providing high availability services.
  • Experience supporting and building server operating systems.

  • Flexibility in working hours and location, including weekends and out-of-hours.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Disciplined approach to change management and system documentation.
  • Strong abilities in writing technology-based documentation.

  • Self-motivated.

  • Flexibility to travel when required.
