About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Collections Specialist to contribute to the Hurstville Museum and Gallery by developing and maintaining the museum collection. This includes record keeping via the collection management system and supporting the delivery of the exhibition program through item selection, preparation, and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the museum collection through record keeping and collection management
  • Support the delivery of the exhibition program by selecting, preparing, and monitoring items for display
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve the museum's goals and objectives
  • Provide exceptional customer service and contribute to a positive visitor experience

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Museum Studies or a related field
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Demonstrated experience as a registrar, conservator, or collections officer
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
