Job Overview

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will play a vital role in identifying business/operational pain points, eliciting and analyzing requirements, investigating and analyzing business/operating procedures.

You will formulate and document the business requirements based on the analysis of current business processes and procedures, document AS-IS and TO-Be Processes, and identify opportunities for automation.

The role involves liaising between the business and technology teams to facilitate business-IT alignment and aid in an evidence-based decision-making process. You will collaborate with stakeholders (developer/product manager/etc.) to identify, evaluate, and recommend software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing detailed functional requirement specifications documents using epics and user stories;
  • Working together with UI designers to create and review UI designs in-line with system specifications;
  • Communicating software requirements to the development & QA team during requirement walkthroughs and planning sessions;
  • Creating clear system specifications through the use of use case diagrams, data/process modelling, flowcharts, or other UMLs for the development of the system;
  • Documenting and performing user acceptance testing to ensure the software developed is in line with the requirements, of acceptable quality, and plan deployment cycles;
  • Analysing systems to facilitate third-party integrations;
  • Identifying gaps and inefficiencies and suggesting improvements in process or functional specifications of the system;
  • Working with a team in an Agile environment to implement best practices and timely deliverables to ensure the project is being delivered on time and within specified budget.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT/IS
  • At least 2 years of full-time experience working as a Business Analyst/Product Analyst/Product Manager or other similar roles;
  • Hands-on experience creating systems specifications using UML;
  • Experience working with Power BI and Microsoft technologies;
  • Strong understanding of databases and ability to write SQL queries;
  • Knowledge of backend and frontend technologies;
  • Knowledge and understanding of responsive designs and systems;
  • Strong understanding of cloud architecture;
  • Experience working in Agile–Scrum development methodology;
  • Hands-on experience using JIRA and Confluence;
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and work in a dynamic team environment;
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and non-verbal).
