We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support our organisation in building and sustaining a world-class safety culture.

About the Role

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for partnering with leaders to implement and continuously improve health & safety processes. This will include conducting risk assessments, audits, inspections, hazard reporting, accident/incident investigations, work access permits, and behavioural safety observations.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings, site inspections, and other activities to reinforce safety standards.
  • Support managers to ensure employees and contractors comply with our Safety and Health Management System and relevant legislation.
  • Contribute to high-level safety investigations by reviewing reports and ensuring robust corrective and preventative actions are identified and implemented.
  • Provide clear and consistent communication with stakeholders regarding safety obligations, plans, and performance improvement.
The Ideal Candidate

Essential Requirements Include
  • A minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A minimum Certificate IV in Occupational/Workplace Health & Safety.
  • Previous leadership experience and ability to manage a direct report.
  • Formal Incident Investigation qualifications (Taproot, Essential Factors, or ICAM).
  • RIIRIS402D – Carry out the risk management processes and demonstrated experience in risk assessment facilitation.
  • Workplace drug and alcohol testing accreditation.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven experience in driving safety culture improvements.
  • Previous experience in mining (preferably underground) or heavy industry environments.
  • Working knowledge of contractor compliance platforms.
Desirable Attributes Include
  • Knowledge of occupational health and hygiene principles.
  • Mental health awareness training.
