Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Database Professional to manage, maintain and optimise enterprise databases.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Database Administration:
      • Install, configure and upgrade Oracle and MS SQL Server databases.
      • Create and manage database instances, schemas and security roles.
      • Perform proactive monitoring, performance tuning and optimisation of database environments.
  • Backup & Recovery:
    • Implement and maintain backup, restore and disaster recovery strategies (e.g. RMAN, Always On, Log Shipping or third-party tools).
    • Regularly test recovery procedures to ensure business continuity.
  • Performance & Optimisation:
    • Analyse execution plans, indexes and queries to enhance performance.
    • Optimise storage and memory usage for efficiency.
  • High Availability & Replication:
    • Manage clustering, replication and failover solutions (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SQL Always On).
    • Monitor uptime and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Security & Compliance:
    • Apply patches and security updates to maintain compliance with IT policies.
    • Implement access controls, encryption and auditing.
  • Collaboration & Support:
    • Work with development teams to support database design and query optimisation.
    • Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents and troubleshooting.
  • Documentation & Automation:
    • Maintain proper documentation for processes, configurations and procedures.
    • Automate repetitive tasks using scripts or tools.
Required Skills And Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field.
  • Experience in a similar role for 10 to 15 years.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Oracle and 8 years in SQL.
  • Oracle 12c/19c administration, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, RAC.
  • SQL Server 2016/2019 administration, Always On, SSIS/SSRS/SSAS.
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL or T-SQL scripting skills.
  • Experience with performance tuning and query optimisation.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or OCI).
Desired Skills And Experience
  • Certifications like Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
  • Experience with database automation tools or DevOps integration.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL or cloud-native databases.
