Facilities Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to coordinate the ongoing development and growth of our facilities team, tasked with delivering operational services including programmed maintenance, functionality inspections, and on-site triage of escalated incidents. The position reports to the Operations Service Unit under the Planning and Development directorate.

The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in facility management, customer service, project management, or building maintenance, with several years of relevant work experience. They will be able to manage budgets, adhere to expenditure targets, and demonstrate financial reporting and cost control skills. Expert understanding of building construction techniques, componentry, functionality, and maintenance tasks is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing best practice maintenance services through research, benchmarking, and monitoring of industry and local trends;
  • Oversight and support of Council's proactive and reactive maintenance works to ensure delivery of specified targets, objectives, OHS compliance, risk management, and budget expenditure;
  • Planning, implementing, and scheduling routine functionality inspections to proactively identify and rectify faults and hazards;
  • Supervising and supporting the In-house Services team's focus on improvement to processes, procedures, skill sets, both individually and collectively for the overall performance of the team;
  • Supervising the administration of Trade and Specialist service contracts relating to reactive and proactive maintenance activity.
