About the Role

Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service is seeking multiple nurse practitioners based in Broome, WA. This newly created role reports to a senior medical officer and leads advanced clinical care services within a primary healthcare clinic.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Culturally safe and responsive primary health care aligned with our model of care
  • Conducting patient assessments, diagnoses, and clinical decision-making
  • Prescribing medications under the Kimberley Standard Drug List and authorised SASAs
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic investigations
  • Managing recalls, reminders, and follow-up care processes
  • Collaborating across departments and multidisciplinary teams
  • Leading quality improvement activities and clinical audits
  • Participating in clinical governance and safeguarding practices for children and young people

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful, you must hold current AHPRA registration with endorsement as a nurse practitioner, along with demonstrated experience in a primary healthcare setting. The following qualifications and attributes will be highly regarded:

  • Experience working in Aboriginal community-controlled health services
  • Clinical expertise in triage, treatment, and ongoing care management
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams
  • Cultural humility and a willingness to learn in an Aboriginal health context
  • Collaborative approach and ability to adapt to a diverse service environment

This role offers a competitive salary of $150,000 to $165,000 PLUS Super, plus a wide range of additional benefits.
