Import Air Freight Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Import Air Freight Operations Manager to join our team. As an experienced professional in import air freight forwarding operations, you will be responsible for monitoring cargo availability and status, coordinating airport retrievals, reporting damage and surplus cargo, and processing documentation handovers and deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor cargo availability and status
  • Coordinate airport retrievals to bond store including check-in
  • Report damage and surplus cargo
  • Cargo automation
  • Process documentation handovers and deliveries
  • Finalise job invoices and costs
  • Attend training courses and meetings as required
  • Liaising with airlines, freight forwarders, overseas offices, customers, suppliers and internal staff

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience in import air freight forwarding operations in the Australian market
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Positive and professional customer service skills
  • Team player with high degree of integrity and dependability
  • Proficiency with IT systems including MS Office
  • Efficient data entry skills - speed and accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
