Security Operations Engineer

Metcash is seeking a highly skilled Security Operations Engineer to join our growing Cybersecurity team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for safeguarding our information systems and infrastructure by implementing and managing security systems and controls.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and remediate cloud security alerts to ensure the overall resilience of our security posture.
- Participate in regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address security weaknesses.
- Provide subject matter expertise on security and controls for Azure Active Directory and Privileged Access Management.
- Ensure technology and environments comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Adhere to security configurations and hardening practices for Azure resources.
- Maintain IOC registers and related investigation findings with MSSP vendors.
- Work with service fulfillment teams to streamline incident response.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of security configurations, incidents, and remediation efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, cyber security, or related field.
- 7+ years experience in SOC operations or large Security Enterprise Team.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, MS Security Operations Analyst (SC-200), MS Identity and Access Admin(SC-300), MS Azure Security Engineer Associate (az-500).
- Experience working in blue team operations and continuous defensive posture management.
- Demonstrable knowledge of ASD Essential 8 security controls and enforcement.
- Experience in incident response coordination.
- Vendor management and SLA oversight experience.
- Experience in Logistics/Supermarket/Retail/Wholesale industries or Critical Infrastructure will be highly regarded.
