Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Application Support Manager to join our team at BCS Technology. As a key member of our IT Operations team, you will be responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and mentoring to our Application Support Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Application Support Team to ensure the delivery of high-quality support services.
  • Prioritize and complete incidents and activities to meet required service levels, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Contribute to a culture that values collaboration, technical excellence, and ongoing staff learning and development, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Support the development of a strong OH&S culture, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Assist senior ICT stakeholders with the coordination of resources to effectively manage major incidents, problems, changes, releases, and other escalations.
  • Develop an excellent working relationship with broader IT Operations and build relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure alignment of operational support activities.
  • Promote, maintain, and monitor change control processes and compliance, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Ensure knowledge management systems and documentation are kept up to date, facilitating effective knowledge sharing and transfer.
  • Build business process knowledge and ensure applications are maintained in line with business processes, ensuring seamless integration with other business systems.
  • Monitor and maintain system backups, documenting and reviewing backup schedules and providing recommendations for future growth.
  • Constructively and positively participate in the development and implementation of systems improvement projects, driving innovation and process excellence.
  • Regularly monitor system performance, capacity, and security, identifying and reporting areas for improvement.
  • Independently validate external information from multiple sources, specifying and applying appropriate analytical techniques and reporting results to customers and management.
  • Investigate identified security breaches in accordance with established procedures and recommend any required actions.
  • Ensure that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate, and resolve problems in systems and services, ensuring that such problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting system(s).
  • Promote safe working practices that comply with OH&S policies and procedures, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
  • Participate in on-call roster for out-of-hours support as required.

Requirements

  • Problem-solving skills in applications administration, development, and maintenance in a commercial computing environment, at Application Platform Administration/Developer level.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, commitments, and handle competing demands without compromising standards of service and quality.
  • Knowledge of BPMN practices and frameworks.
  • Experience with Database System Administration.
  • AWS cloud technologies (CI/CD pipelines and Lambda).
  • Development practices and languages ITIL Practices.
