About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Helping Hand's Whyalla Residential Care Home. As a Cook, you will be responsible for providing high-quality meals for our residents and functions. You will work closely with the Food Services team to manage the day-to-day coordination of the kitchen and ensure that all food preparation and meal delivery is compliant with Australian Food Standards and Helping Hand's Food Safety Management Plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effective meal planning and delivery of a menu to support customer focus and choice, nutritional needs, and dietary requirements
  • Participating in quality improvement activities to promote continuous improvement in Food Services
  • Ensuring food preparation and meal delivery is compliant with Australian Food Standards and Helping Hand's Food Safety Management Plan

What You'll Bring

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Community Food Services (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a Commercial Kitchen, including meal planning and preparation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial equipment, including combi ovens, brat pan, and commercial dishwashers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Australian food standards and food safety
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or be willing to obtain one
