About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a significant role in our SMSF processing division in Australia. As an SMSF Accountant, you will be responsible for processing compliance work for SMSFs, as well as assisting other SMSF team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of SMSF Work Papers: Prepare high-quality work papers for SMSF clients, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare SMSF financial statements in accordance with all current, legal, and accounting reporting standards.
  • Liaison with Auditors: Liaise with the SMSF Auditor and resolve queries as they arise, ensuring seamless communication and resolution.
  • Accounting and Compliance: Identify relevant accounting and compliance issues, providing expert advice to clients.
  • Client Support: Prepare documents for client meetings and assist with client meetings as required, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Lodgement Program: Comply with lodgement program requirements, meeting deadlines and ensuring timely submission.
Requirements
  • Education: Business/Commerce degree with Accounting Major.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Completed or working towards completion of CA or equivalent, completed SMSF specialist course.
  • Experience: 1-2 years in a similar role, experience with Class Super, strong communication skills, strong attention to detail, ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
