About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our team at a state-of-the-art early education center. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating healthy menus that cater to the diverse needs of children aged 0-6 years.

The role involves playing an active part in developing and implementing nutritional plans, working closely with our educational team to ensure seamless integration of food education into our programs.

  • Developing menus that meet the dietary requirements of children with allergies and specific dietary needs;
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to relevant regulations and standards;
  • Collaborating with the kitchen team to ensure efficient meal preparation and service;
  • Participating in staff training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in food education and nutrition;
  • Engaging with families and educators to promote healthy eating habits and educate children about the importance of nutrition.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field;
  • At least 3 years of experience as a chef or cook in a childcare setting;
  • Proven track record of creating healthy, nutritious meals that cater to diverse tastes and dietary needs;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with children, educators, and support staff;
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, with willingness to obtain additional certifications as required;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
