Role Summary
Seeking a compassionate professional to provide therapeutic counselling services to students, family members, and staff.
Counselling Responsibilities
- Offer one-on-one and group therapeutic sessions for students, family members, and advice to school staff.
- Support the school community during and after critical incidents.
- Collaborate with external agencies where necessary.
- Develop social/emotional education for staff and parents.
Qualifications and Experience
- Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA), full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or provisional membership with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
- At least two years' experience in providing counselling services addressing emotional and behavioural needs to children and adolescents, and their families, and At-Risk students.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current NSW Child Protection Legislation and child/adolescent development and mental health issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work collaboratively and engage with multiple stakeholders.
- Capacity to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload through a solution-focused lens.
