About the Role

The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to deliver holistic and human rights-based support to vulnerable individuals, working collaboratively with lawyers to ensure culturally appropriate service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver crisis intervention and support to clients using a flexible approach that integrates advocacy, case management, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with lawyers to assist clients in exploring options and support their participation in legal processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, build referral networks, and represent the organization in external forums.
  • Contribute to service improvement strategies and provide training to staff.
Requirements
  • A Social Work degree and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment to provide social services to clients with complex needs.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare written referrals and contribute to policy submissions.
  • A commitment to delivering culturally appropriate and accessible services for diverse communities.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and pursue continuous improvement.

This role requires empathy, effective communication, and the ability to work under pressure.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Disclosure of any banning orders under s73ZN of the NDIS Act 2013 (if applicable).
  • A criminal history check and serious disciplinary history check will be undertaken for the recommended applicant.
  • Applicants must disclose any conflicts of interest or employment as a lobbyist in the preceding two years.
