Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate social worker to join our team in providing specialist clinical care and leadership within a multidisciplinary setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering assertive, person-centred support through timely assessment, therapeutic interventions, and short-term outreach for individuals presenting to the emergency department with complex behavioural health and psychosocial needs.

The role involves working collaboratively with healthcare professionals, community agencies, and peer support workers to promote safe transitions of care and strengthen community linkages. The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in psychosocial assessment, recovery-oriented practice, crisis intervention, and care planning within complex healthcare environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited Bachelor Degree or entry level Master's Degree of Social Work that provides eligibility for membership of the AASW.
  • Current eligibility for AASW membership.
  • Accredited Mental Health Social Worker: approved by the AASW & a post-graduate degree in a relevant field or working towards (e.g. Family Therapy, Masters of Social Work, Mental Health, etc.) is advantageous.
