Job Title: Disability Support Worker - Supported Independent Living

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in Alice Springs, NT. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting customers to become more independent in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and support customers to develop their personal interests and skills
  • Coach independent living skills such as cooking, domestic, and social skills
  • Administer medication and adhere to individual support plans
  • Complete clear and concise handover notes and incident reports
  • Provide personal care such as toileting, showering, feeding, and dressing when required
  • Help customers engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
Requirements:
  • Be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, active nights, and sleepovers
  • Versatile communication skills including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers
  • Current Driver's License (mandatory requirement)
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID003 (or confirmation of enrolment)
  • Be willing to complete a National Police Check
  • Formal qualifications in Disability, Mental Health, Community Services, or similar, would be advantageous
