The South Australian public sector promotes diversity and flexible ways of working. We have a vacancy for a Dental Assistant to join our dental team in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department at Flinders Medical Centre.

About the Role

This part-time role is responsible for providing essential dental assisting duties, managing clinic administration and patient records with confidentiality and precision. You will work under the guidance of the Dental Service Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the clinic.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing dental assisting duties within the Special Needs Dental Service
  • Ensuring clinic administration and patient records are administered in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
  • Maintaining working relations and interacting with other government and non-government stakeholders
  • Assisting with the maintenance of dental equipment and stock levels
  • Arranging patient appointments, interpreters, recalls and referrals as directed
  • Processing dental radiographs
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent qualification
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and security of official information
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Proven experience in the provision of chair-side dental assistance
  • Proven knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, instruments, materials and procedures and contemporary infection control procedures
