The mechanical engineer plays a pivotal role in delivering innovative technical solutions to support data centre projects. This role involves providing deep technical expertise to design managers, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with design managers to develop technical solutions that meet customer requirements.
- Reviewing design processes, providing instruction on RFIs, and approving technical submittals.
- Researching and evaluating equipment selection to inform technical solutions for customer requirements.
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical systems that support data centres, in conjunction with design managers.
- Providing technical input throughout the design phase to ensure performance requirements are met.
- Post-delivery, conducting reviews of mechanical performance to identify opportunities for optimisation and improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, plus minimum six to eight years' experience as a mechanical engineer.
- High proficiency in commercial and industrial engineering, with a focus on data centres.
- Strong understanding of hyperscale and co-location data centre operators' basis of design and technical requirements.
- Understanding data centre facility design and construction requirements.
