Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geoscientist to join our technical team in Perth. The successful candidate will work closely with our team of explorationists, geoscientists, and mineral resource modellers to deliver a superior consulting service to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, manage, and maintain solutions to solve internal and external geoscience problems;
  • Develop novel approaches to solve geoscience and data analytical problems, including the use of machine learning and multivariate data analysis techniques;
  • Contribute to the writing, peer review, and technical editing of reports;
  • Project manage work programs, budgets, and reporting;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Train and mentor other RSC team members and contractors;
  • Carry out site visits to collect data or samples to underpin projects and engage with clients;
  • Lead multidisciplinary projects at various scales, from deposit to district;
  • Actively participate in business diversification, growth, and development activities, identifying opportunities to support RSC clients.
Requirements
  • More than 5 years of diverse and relevant experience from exploration and mining to research and academia;
  • Robust understanding of mineral system science and multi-commodity experience;
  • Familiarity with microcharacterisation and interpreting datasets from the micro-to-macro scale;
  • Good understanding of public reporting requirements, including JORC and NI43-101;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of quality assurance and quality control systems, and sampling theory;
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to report findings concisely, logically, and efficiently;
  • Excellent knowledge of analytical geochemistry techniques;
  • Leadership qualities and ability to manage direct reports well;
  • MSc or PhD in geology or a related subject;
  • Reside or intend to reside in Perth and have the legal right to work in Australia.
