Job Title: Plant Operator

This role requires a skilled individual to operate various plant items effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate plant with precision and attention to detail to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintain plant equipment daily according to manufacturer's specifications for optimal performance.
  • Ensure safe operation and loading of plant, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Transport plant safely and securely, following all relevant road regulations and chain of responsibility guidelines.
Additional Duties:
  • Drive and operate plant to load, lift, carry, excavate, unload materials, liquids, equipment, and objects efficiently and safely.
  • Assist in worksite preparation, measurement, marking, and basic leveling tasks as required.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safe work method statements (SWMS) to minimize hazards.
  • Support other plant operators by directing movement of plant and loads, communicating work site conditions, and providing information as needed.
  • Use and maintain tools and equipment effectively, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and cleaning of Council assets as directed.
  • Undertake laboring duties as required.
  • Respond to emergency situations promptly and according to established protocols.
  • Complete required workplace records accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate other mobile plant and trucks as instructed.
  • Participate in training to enhance personal skill levels and advance knowledge in the field.
  • Provide information to members of the public within the scope of the role, addressing inquiries and concerns.
  • Perform any other duties that align with the employee's skill, competence, and training.
