Job Title: Coastal Safety Support Officer

Our organization is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Coastal Safety Support Officer to provide administrative and operational support to our Coastal Safety Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Coastal Safety Team as directed by the Coastal Safety Manager, including coordination of identified grant and fund programs.
  • Assist with key funding projects, undertake lifesaving data analysis, and assist with development and coordination of project plans, proposals, and communication schedules.
  • Monitor and administer funding scheme budgets, ensure project outcomes are achieved within allocated resources, and prepare project reports and recommendations.
  • Support the efficient administration and coordination of the Beach Safety Equipment Funding Scheme with States and Clubs, and liaise with the Coastal Safety Manager and Shared Services Team members/managers.
Lifesaving Operations:
  • Prepare meetings for LMC, LMAC, Advisory, ALS, and Working Groups.
  • Manage day-to-day operational and administrative lifesaving requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Establish a communication schedule to ensure stakeholders have opportunities to be consulted and provide feedback on all relevant projects.
  • Promote awareness of project successes through various internal and external communication channels.
Other Tasks:
  • Support delivery and production of the Australian Lifeguard Magazine.
  • Support lifesaving information for the Annual Report.
  • Support preparation of the NCSR.
  • Support Beach Blackspot Drowning Reduction Programs.
  • Manage tasks, projects, and/or other activities as determined by the Coastal Safety Manager.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications: A degree or demonstrated project management and data analysis experience.
  • Knowledge and Experience:
    • Experience in booking and coordinating logistical requirements, including travel, accommodation, venue hire, and catering.
    • Knowledge and understanding of surf lifesaving philosophies, principles, activities, programs, procedures, and services, and issues that affect surf lifesaving on a national level.
