**The primary purpose of this position is to monitor and support a specific function of safety, health and environmental program at the site or facility under general supervision. In addition, to provide support, coordination, and advice on HSE practices, systems, and procedures within the defined workplaces.

The Safety Coordinator is to work closely with the Project Director and Construction Manager to ensure the project is delivered successfully whilst actively promoting and leading a positive and enthusiastic safety culture of "Zero Harm". The Safety Coordinators role is responsible for providing the overall WHS management support and guidance to the construction team, stakeholders and TfNSW and monitoring all work sites.

**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure the safety of any subordinates and ensure their compliance with established

safety policies, procedures, and practices
- Analyze safety problems and recommend solutions to the appropriate manager
- Conduct routine HSE inspections, monitoring, and analysis of work areas
- Conduct investigations of site accidents and incidents that may require litigation
- Assist with workers' compensation claims and rehabilitation processes
- Create, evaluate, and administer safety programs for all employees
- Prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of the

safety program assigned
- Maintain professional relationships with regulatory bodies, clients, and

contemporaries to foster the professional image of the organization
- Maintain knowledge of safety policies and procedures to enable the performance of

assigned duties in a safe manner
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies, processes, systems, and

procedures
- Support management and dissemination of information
- Survey, evaluate, investigate, and gather the information that will address inadequacies

concerning safety, health, and environmental matters
**Knowledge**:

Knowledge of Legislative Requirements under the WHS legislation (NSW), which

includes WHS Act, WHS Regulations 2017, Codes of Practice approved under the WHS

Act, Australian Standards referenced in the WHS legislation, and other related

legislation
- Familiarity with TfNSW Specification G22 Work Health and Safety (Construction Work)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail
- Understanding of the Heavy Vehicle Chain of Responsibility
