Research Development Officer Role

This is a key position within the Group Research Development Team, reporting to the Deputy Director – Research Services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advice to researchers on funding opportunities, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with scheme requirements.
  • Identify sources of international and national funding opportunities, coordinate their distribution, and facilitate discussion on pursuing them.
  • Undertake track record assessments to determine researcher readiness for particular grant schemes, providing grant application strategy advice to support research ambitions.
  • Develop and implement Early Career Researcher grant application support processes, promoting capability development training events through the Researcher Education and Development team.
  • Identify, develop, and deliver initiatives to researchers on proposal preparation, industry engagement, research collaboration, budget formulation, and project management skills.
About You
  • Hold postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience or a combination of knowledge, training, and experience in higher education, research, industry, or government.
  • Ability to assist researchers to identify, conceptualise, and develop successful grant applications.
  • Knowledge of international and national research policy environments, granting scheme rules, current issues, and emerging trends in the higher education research sector.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with an ability to work under broad direction, self-start, and work independently in a team environment.
What We Offer
  • Fixed-term (two years) full-time positions primarily based at either Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast campuses.
  • Salary Range: $113,713 - $127,923 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation.
