About the Role:


The Data Center Technical Operations Engineer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the data center, including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Participate in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern.
  • Manage on-site contractors and vendors ensuring compliance with established practices and local legislation.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on data center infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Generate Change Management requests and Incident Management tickets for events managed by the Data Center Technical Operations Engineer.
  • Work with DC managers and business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety and efficiency.
  • Document business and facility operations.
  • Install racks and provide power and cooling within constraints.
  • Manage routine maintenance and emergency services for critical systems.
  • Assist in designing, implementing, and commissioning new facilities.
  • Drive projects to increase facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
  • Manage facility assets and provide infrastructure inventory asset management.
  • Attend and participate in regular construction and operational meetings.
  • Familiar with Work Order compliance to achieve contractual SLAs.
  • Interface with Infra Ops management for day-to-day operational requirements.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts.
  • Resolve infrastructure engineering or services issues.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.

What We're Looking For:


We're seeking a strong leader with 4+ years of experience in maintaining data centers or critical space facilities. You'll need strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, as well as a strong attention to detail.


Requirements:



  • 4+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong Facilities Management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Service Management systems (Problem & Change).
  • Experience with MOPs & SWMS development for planned works.
  • Physical Security protocol awareness.
  • Computer literate with Office Suite skills.
  • Ability to walk job sites in uneven terrain and perform construction tasks while on a ladder.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Degree or Technical (Military/ Trade School) and relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of Data Center Engineering/Operations Experience.
  • 4+ years of Data Center Management Experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant discipline.
