Orthotist / Prosthetist Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthotist / Prosthetist to join our team at Austin Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality orthotic and prosthetic clinical services to patients across our health service and the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritise and provide direct clinical services to areas of Austin Health in accordance with case load requirements, including pressure injury and prevention, acute spinal management and musculoskeletal conditions.
- Provide clinical services in accordance with the professional and ethical standards of the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association.
- Manage and demonstrate detailed assessment, care planning and intervention with attention to professional values, skills, knowledge, and theory.
- Assess patients' functional status and provision of orthoses/prostheses for inpatients and outpatients referred to the Department, including planning, evaluation of treatment, and ongoing treatment plans.
- Actively contribute to the development and continuing improvement of the orthotics and prosthetics service.
Requirements
- Masters of Clinical Prosthetic and Orthotics (or Bachelor equivalent).
- AOPA membership with certification as an Orthotist / Prosthetist.
- An interest in an area of clinical practice relevant to Austin Health (Musculoskeletal, Spinal Injury and pressure injury management).
- Working knowledge of external funding streams such as NDIS, TAC, Work Cover and SWEP.
