We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Trainer to join our team at Ford. As a Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training to Ford technicians across our dealership network.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for Ford technicians, including Curriculum training, New Model Training (NMT), and Performance Improvement training.
- Assist dealers with Technical Training Plans for technicians and review technical training materials to ensure high-quality course content.
- Provide in-depth instruction to technicians on Ford vehicle systems, components, and technologies, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and steering.
- Conduct hands-on demonstrations and practical exercises to reinforce technician knowledge of Ford vehicles.
- Ensure training facility, tools, and equipment are maintained for readiness and safety, including conducting Training Facility Safety audits.
- Update training attendance and student completion details to ensure accurate training history data and learner records in the Learning Management System (STARS).
- A Training certification and/or previous experience/roles in the Technical Training arena.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate trainees through interactive learning activities and demonstrations.
- Above average proficiency with MS Office products.
- Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic tools, software, and equipment, with the ability to demonstrate proper operation and troubleshooting techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Full Australian Drivers Licence.
- Ford Master Technician or equivalent Ford technical training experience with strong diagnostic capability.
- Understanding of Ford Dealer Service operations and previous Dealer/field experience.
- Ability to build relationships with Technicians and Dealers.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and influence the team culture when faced with demanding internal and customer expectations and changing requirements.
- Strategic mindset and strong analytical, systemic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Creative thinker/problem solver and ability to consider multiple points of view (flexibility).
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to create leverage.
- Strong project planning skills, with the ability to stay organized while managing multiple project components and programs.
- Ability to understand and connect with Technicians.
- Great written and oral communication skills.
