Job Title: Instructional Library Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Instructional Library Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of the educational community, you will be responsible for managing the library/media center, empowering students to become critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information.

The successful candidate will collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement units of instruction, assess student learning, and provide learning opportunities that foster critical thinking, encourage risk-taking, highlight innovation, and allow opportunities for self-reflection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the library/media center, ensuring a welcoming environment for all students and faculty.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop lessons and materials that support curriculum standards and instructional technology.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for staff, focusing on library services, technology, and general content.
  • Maintain a continued awareness of current research and trends in library practices, technology, and curriculum.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with the campus and community to create innovative opportunities for stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid school librarian certification or endorsement.
  • Two years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A deep understanding of fiscal responsibility and knowledge of the needs of the learning community.
