Cloud Network Optimization Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and deploying cloud network infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

This role requires a strong understanding of optical communication systems, networking planning, and optimization. The engineer will collaborate with vendors to evaluate new hardware and software features, create implementation plans, and automate test plans.

A day in the life of this role includes working on complex problems, making technical trade-offs, and owning long-term strategic views. The engineer will build strong partnerships with customers to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet those requirements.

The team is responsible for developing, delivering, and supporting optical products used to interconnect data centers and points of presence. They aim to provide highly available, secure, and scalable transport for multiple customer fabrics globally.

  • Job Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement network designs to meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with vendors to evaluate new technologies and features
  • Develop and automate test plans to ensure high-quality deployments
  • Work with network operations teams to identify issues and improve quality and RMA processes
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of optical communication systems and networking planning
  • Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for automation scripting
  • Expertise in debugging and troubleshooting hardware and systems design
