About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team as a Project Lead. As a key member of our Victorian Civil Projects department, you will be responsible for:

  1. Team Leadership: Mentoring and guiding a team of civil engineers to achieve project goals and objectives.
  2. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborating with colleagues across the organization to share knowledge, best practices, and expertise.
  3. Civil Engineering Design: Developing and implementing civil engineering designs for various projects, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and multi-storey residential developments, as well as public domain infrastructure and building projects.
  4. Relationship Building: Building and maintaining strong relationships with team members, clients, drafters, contractors, Council, and other authorities, architects, and builders.
  5. Project Coordination: Coordinating with the team to establish workflow and support the organization's culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  6. Client Engagement: Working closely with management teams to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, supporting business development activities to promote new business opportunities.
  7. Project Delivery: Leading the delivery of technically accurate, cost-effective, and optimum designs in accordance with Australian standards.
  8. Innovation and Improvement: Identifying opportunities to lead and contribute to innovative and technical improvement projects that benefit the business as a whole.
  9. Site Inspections: Conducting site inspections as part of construction administration tasks, such as site progress inspections, resolving on-site conditions, and responding to contractor RFIs.
Requirements for Success
  1. 5+ years of professional experience in Civil engineering projects and a minimum qualification of bachelor's degree in engineering.
  2. Civil Design experience: roads, stormwater drainage, onsite stormwater detention, pump systems, car parking, access driveways/manoeuvring areas (geometry and pavement levels) for larger building-led developments to authority and client requirements.
  3. Excellent skills in 3D design software (Intrax software includes Civil 3D, Civil Site Design, OSD4W, DRAINS, and AutoCAD) for earthworks, road, drainage, sewer, and pavement level design.
  4. Understanding of stormwater design to WSUD guidelines, including MUSIC modelling.
  5. Knowledge of Australian Standards, Austroads, VicRoads, and other relevant authority standards for road and drainage design.
  6. Minor flood assessments (desirable).
  7. Ability to manage, train, and mentor engineers in the civil team.
  8. Registered Building Practitioner (VIC) and/or NER is desired.
