Job Overview:

The Director of Water Resources Management is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to develop, analyse and implement frameworks for water management. This role involves creating and implementing plans that sustainably allocate and manage water resources in Queensland.

  • Lead a team of professionals to deliver water planning and implementation of science functions within the North Region.
  • Contribute to the development and review of water plans and reports for the North Region.
  • Undertake technical assessments (environmental, economic, social, hydrologic, and cultural data) and engage with stakeholders to understand and plan for further water needs.
  • Collaborate with the Commonwealth on accredited water resource plans and other related matters.
  • Represent the department at state and national water initiatives and forums.
  • Deliver science-related programs to support water planning and intergovernmental agreements.
  • Engage with First Nations people to understand and deliver indigenous water reserves.
