We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Water Planning Specialist. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of innovative management solutions and policy for the efficient and sustainable management of Queensland's water resources.

  • The Water Planning Specialist will work closely with our team to develop water plans, water management protocols, and other policy documents related to the effective management of Queensland's water resources.
  • The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Experience in science, policy, or regulatory backgrounds is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting policy papers and recommendations for the development of water plans, supporting instruments, and other water planning documents.
  • Undertaking complex technical reviews to inform the development of water management solutions and policy.
  • Liaising with technical experts from various disciplines to inform the technical review.
  • Conducting complex desktop research, data collection, interpretation, and analysis to inform the assessment of a range of water management and policy issues.
  • Preparing policy papers, briefing notes, and other correspondence as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree qualification in a field relevant to the key duties and accountabilities, such as environmental science, natural resource management, economics, policy, or business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with technical experts and stakeholders.
