About this opportunity

The Transport and Main Roads Program Delivery and Operations (PDO) Central Queensland Region oversees 9076km of state-controlled roads and about 1510km of the National Road Network. This role contributes to the development and delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP).

The CQ Region covers an area of approximately 604,824km2, ranging from coastal areas adjoining the Great Barrier Reef and rainforests to the rugged outback with breathtaking rock formations.

This region has a residential population of approximately 422,141 people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis to prepare high-quality written content for Ministerial and Executive briefing notes and correspondence, ensuring a clear and concise response to key external stakeholders and the broader community.
  • Develop community engagement plans for QTRIP projects, including key messages, targeted engagement and communication strategies, and associated materials.
  • Prepare communication materials such as newsletters, flyers, roadworks advice, display materials, and other communication material to support delivery of QTRIP projects.
  • Research and prepare draft media releases, social media content, and responses to media enquiries.
  • Maintain effective relationships with key external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A current Class 'C' Driver's License
  • A criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment
