Job Overview
Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking an experienced and passionate Aboriginal Community Wellbeing Worker to join our team.
The role provides a range of services, including outreach to clients, planned transports, service brokerage, cultural input to service delivery, client support for healthcare follow-ups, healthcare advocacy, client follow-ups for missed appointments, and short-term case management.
This position plays a critical role in promoting initial and continued access to holistic primary healthcare.
About the Role
- To provide community-based wellbeing services to our clients, with a focus on early intervention and prevention of mental health issues.
- To work collaboratively with other teams within the organisation to ensure seamless service delivery.
- To develop and maintain relationships with local community groups and services to enhance our service delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, or community development.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Strong understanding of the determinants of health and their impact on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
