Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Acute Mental Health Clinician. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse individuals, providing mental health triage and assessments, short-term treatment, and case management in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mental health triage and assessments for consumers within the community experiencing acute mental health problems.
  • Mental health assessments in a hospital setting.
  • Short-term mental health treatment in the community, including care coordination and longer-term case management as clinically indicated.
  • Collaborative care planning for consumers transferring between hospital and community, follow-up support and onward referrals where appropriate.
  • Brief therapeutic interventions for Personality Disorders.
  • Working in a multidisciplinary team across a 7-day rotating roster with morning and afternoon shifts.

What We're Looking For
  • AHPRA registration or eligibility for membership with AASW for Social Workers.
  • Demonstrated experience in mental health assessment and crisis intervention.
  • Experience in suicide risk assessment and management.
  • Knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act.
  • Case management/care coordination skills.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • New South Wales Driver's licence.
  • Proficiency with data systems and/or Microsoft Office Word.
