Accessibility Transformation Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Accessibility Transformation Specialist to drive initiatives that enhance accessibility across our network.

The ideal candidate will support customer and community engagement, build internal capability, and embed accessibility through key initiatives and projects aligned with the business strategy.

This role offers the chance to shape passenger experiences by engaging across the network, understanding lived experiences, removing barriers, and ensuring initiatives benefit customers and the community.

  • Support the implementation of accessibility initiatives, embedding outcomes across the business and aligning with stakeholder needs.
  • Lead internal accessibility programs and support upcoming accreditation initiatives in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Drive engagement and consultation with internal teams and external stakeholders, including advocacy groups, to inform accessibility initiatives.
  • Oversee contracts and partnerships with external accessibility service providers to ensure effective delivery and alignment with accessibility objectives.
  • Support initiatives which enhance passenger experience and remove barriers.
  • Guide accessibility compliance and best practice, supporting business planning and reporting as required.
About You

You have a background in accessibility, motivated to improve access to public transport, and with experience in supporting accessibility programs, engaging stakeholders, and driving initiatives that embed best-practice accessibility across an organisation.

  • Experience with accessibility standards and best practice, including knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Background in project coordination or management to lead a range of commitments and associated accessibility programs.
  • Ability to communicate and educate effectively with internal and external audiences, adapting messaging to suit each group.
  • Familiarity with the transportation network and public transport systems is highly advantageous.
