Job Description:
The Transport Engineer will provide transport and traffic management services and advice that meet the needs of the Council and the community. They work towards creating a sustainable, safe, well-connected, accessible, and convenient transport network that positively contributes to the health and wellbeing of the community and a low carbon future.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing technical advice, information, and support on relevant transport and traffic management matters
- Providing traffic engineering advice on internal referrals, including Planning applications, building development proposals, hoardings, road occupancy, and crane permits
- Investigating transport, traffic, and parking service complaints from the public and other stakeholders, and preparing responses demonstrating problem solving, options analysis, and formulation of recommendations and solutions
- Assisting in the delivery of capital works through the analysis of data available through traffic management systems
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Successful candidates will bring the following skills and competencies:
- A tertiary qualification in Civil/Traffic Engineering or a related field
- At least 4 years' experience in traffic engineering
- Experience with traffic engineering principles, with local government experience beneficial
- Experience in providing traffic engineering advice for statutory planning applications
