Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Meat Department team to achieve high standards of quality and customer service.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in the hiring, promotion, and termination process for Meat Department personnel.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of Meat Department employees and provide constructive feedback.

Safety and Sanitation:

  • Implement and uphold proper safety procedures and standards in the Meat Department.
  • Log sanitation procedures performed on a daily report.
  • Follow safety and security procedures, read labels for proper use and precautions of cleaning products.

Merchandising and Presentation:

  • Ensure high-quality presentation and merchandising of finished merchandise.
  • Review sanitation log and check for health code compliance.
  • Approve and submit physical inventory periodically and order equipment, merchandise, and supplies as needed.

Customer Service:

  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.

Requirements:

  • Supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Butchery, meat cutting, or comparable experience.
  • Strong customer service, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets), AS400, and basic math skills.
  • A satisfactory criminal record check.

Training and Development:

  • Rotations will occur into other departments or areas of the business to continue the career development of our supervisors.
  • Role and department-specific training within specified timeframes.
